Berkley

  • "Berkley is the musical moniker of Andrew Jones, who composes laid back pop grooves driven by shaky electric guitar tones and chiming keyboards. After exploring broad musical territory, Jones sharpened his focus on electronic elements and pop song forms.

Born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado, now residing in Portland, Oregon (after a lengthy stay in Denton, Texas where he engineered and produced records for emerging artists) Jones took to the American songbook and pop mainstays early in his youth, recording himself on his childhood cassette player singing along to The California Raisins’ Motown covers and early 90s chart toppers. After touring in his own punk and metal bands through his teens and into his early 20s, Jones dipped his toe in the Los Angeles songwriting scene, ultimately finding himself among a team of writers developing early ideas for Michael Jackson’s ill-fated comeback album.

In Berkley, Jones found a palatable recipe for his wide range of influences and a renewed outlook on writing and performing.

Across the western U.S., Berkley has been getting attention every time he reappears online with new music. An early version of his first single, ""Pueblo Nights,"" earned a comparison to Beck from the Dallas Observer in 2020. Later that year, ""Oldies,"" featuring Margo Price and Orville Peck sideman Luke Schneider, found a place as one of the Top 100 songs of 2020 from Dallas music blog Central Track. ""Fiesta Day"" landed Berkley in the pantheon of Colorado musicians a year later following a deep interview with the regional music archive Elk Bugles. Finally, the feather in Berkley's cap came way of a Bandcamp New and Notable mention in 2022 for his EP Love Notes, cementing his sound as ""earnest and immediate pop-rock [...] with shades of Americana and ’70s Laurel Canyon rock & roll.""

His full-length debut finds the songwriter expanding personal flashbacks of his youth growing up in Pueblo, Colorado into 10 tracks of gauzy, straight-ahead reflections on how one creates the myths of their life and whether they are worth living or erasing.

“Melodic, accessible yet dreamy and reflective, both chiming and utterly charming, it will appeal to fans of […] Laurel Canyon icons.” - The Big Takeover

“[Berkley] has found a way to blend all the genres he's ever loved into one fluid, smooth sound, combining the simplicity of acoustic guitar with modern touches of electronic elements.” - Denver Westword

”There is a unifying thread […] that neatly ties all ten songs here with such ease and makes this album such a joy to listen to. 9/10” - Spill Magazine"

Blairé

  • Coming from New Orleans Louisiana, music and performing have been such a big part of my life. Both my parents had bands and played throughout the city. Music has been what wakes me up, takes away my sadness, makes me think and feel something more than just movement, and kept me alive. I hope those who listen to my songs and follow my journey, are ready to take this musical experience with me to explore how lyrics, laid-back, upbeat, and soulful rhythms can change how we enjoy music.

CABIN

The Canary Initiative

  • "In September 2020, Jeannine heard Stefan singing outside a café. Attracted by his music, she walked by to listen and gave him her phone number. A few days later they had their first performance together as an early iteration of the band, including Sarah Findley. A few months later, the pair began a relationship and founded The Canary Initiative with current members, Tristan Murphy, Sarah Findley, and Charlie Hayden.

In January, 2022, the band began recording ‘Time Moves.’ Jeannine’s father, Lovell Anderson, recorded bass on the track. The Canary Initiative showcases the co-founders’ individual talents, expresses their love for each other, and shares a message of heartache, healing, hope and faith.

Each member brings a unique perspective and skillset to the group, with influences from folk, soul, blues, jazz, and classical. The Canary Initiative is an American time capsule, defined by their honest and optimistic outlook."

Clark Andrew Libbey and Kristen Rad

  • "Clark Andrew Libbey and Kristen Rad have been barnstorming the Southwest for the last 5 years playing their unique blend of original americana, alt-country, country gospel and acoustic classics. They combine soulful vocals, delicate harmonies, and a deeply imaginative pallet of stories and lyrics for a show which will in turn enchant and surprise you.

A professional musician with 33 years of experience, Clark Andrew Libbey has spent his life writing songs and playing shows. He mines his often off-kilter stories from a world of his own creation, one replete with trauma, heartbreak, triumphant accomplishments and anthemic moments, both wonderful and tragic. Drawing from a rich landscape of characters, he specializes in boiling down strong metaphors and universal truths into catchy, enchanting melodies. He has 4 solo albums, and has been a part writing and producing a dozen more, and is currently releasing music on Slow Start Records out of Dallas, TX. Besides playing bass, drums and washboard regularly for other bands, he has an americana, bluegrass, zydeco and classic country band called The High Desert Playboys, which plays throughout New Mexico. Their latest album “Ticker Tape Parade” is available now!

Kristen Rad is one of the best known electric violinists in New Mexico. Sought after by country bands, rock bands and metal bands alike, she has become a fixture in the Albuquerque music scene. Versatile, imaginative and dedicated, she’s known for her soaring solos, delicate dynamics, and angelic voice. In recent years, she has been pursuing music full time, touring with multiple artists and teaching music classes to young children. Also a member of The High Desert Playboys, she has been branching out into solo looper sets as well, rounding out an already impressive resume and cementing her reputation as one of the most talented and hardest working musicians in New Mexico.

Their latest singles, a version of the classic song “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” and an original duet ""Shipwrecks in the Night"" are available now on Slow Start Records."

The Hardly Nevers

  • Southern Colorado post-grunge-pop trio the Hardly Nevers are fueled by the daydreams of 90s latchkey kids, catchy pop ditties, and the sugary vocals/guitar of Chela Lujan (Haunted Windchimes), bolstered by Charlie Hayden’s keen eared melodic bass licks and the breaking heartbeats of Tim Kelley on drums (Back Pages)

Heavy Diamond Ring

Ipecac

  • Some things are just meant to last. When Sarah Anderson and Paul DeHaven met and began playing together in 2004, they had no idea just how deep the well of their musical partnership would prove to be. After the disbanding of indie-folk sweethearts Paper Bird, the duo founded Heavy Diamond Ring and never looked back. HDR is the culmination (thus far) of their signature sound, a fountain of open-hearted, folk-rock, steeped in vocal harmony and group synergy. Led by Anderson's smooth-as-honey vocals and DeHaven's rugged guitar chops, the band has been described as ""open-road, long drive music"", having ""a little bit of twang, and a whole lot of beef”, and their live show as ""infectious and contagious"". The band is rounded out by veteran knockouts Blake Stepan (bass), Mike Lang (keys), and Orion Tate Ignelzi (drums). Their second full-length LP, ""All Out of Angels"", out this fall, was produced by Ben Wysocki (the Fray) and Mark Anderson and features a duet with Nathaniel Rateliff. Out now on Cowboy Cowabunga Recordings.

""Heavy Diamond Ring creates a sound that feels as classic as rolling down the windows in the summer - a super highway to a new frontier."" -303 Magazine

""...a helping of contemporary indie-folk that goes down easy, augmented by some subtle, snaky guitar work, walls of harmony vocals and Anderson's attention-grabbing vocals."" -CS Indy"

  • "Los Mocochetes is a Xicano/Funk band from the ancestral, occupied and unceded lands of the Tsis tsis'tas¹, Hinono'eiteen², Ka'igwu³, Weenuchiu⁴, Anasazi⁵, Newe⁶, Diné⁷, Ndee⁸, Inday⁸, and Dine'é⁸ (commonly referred to as Cheyenne¹, Arapahoe², Kiowa³, Ute⁴, Pueblo⁵, Shoshone⁶, Navajo⁷, Apache⁸) and other peoples now known as Denver, CO. With deep roots from the Mora Valley in northern Nuevo Mexico and to the south from Juarez, MX. By combining elements of cumbia, reggae, hip-hop, rock, funk, and more, Los Mocochetes composes music to unite the gente and create revolutionary music you can dance to.

The word Mocochete is a term coined by the group to mean “mocosos con machetes”. In life, most mocosos (snot-nosed “brats”) develop physically to the point where they are strong enough to wield a tool or weapon, such as a machete. How you use that tool has lasting consequences and defines the mark you leave on the world with great potential for both creation and destruction. This duality exists in all of us.

Los Mocochetes have devoted their lives to using their machetes for good. Every performance draws on the elements, the directions, the ancestors and the great mystery. Each song is a prayer meant to move your feet, stir your spirit, and to remind you of the incredible power you have to heal yourself and the 7 generations forward and back. Aho. Mitákuye Oyás'iŋ. Ōmeteōtl. Aṣẹ."

Morgan J COX

  • "Married to the music, my life has defined the content of my music. All of what I write embodies a situation or scenario that has shaped me or sculpted my world in some way. I’m a singer-songwriter that loves sharing my world with my audience. I’m deeply devoted to my music and I’m always writing new songs.

Growing up, it wasn’t easy for me. Being the middle child of seven in a family with little financial means in a poverty-stricken Denver community was hard enough. I was neglected by my family in both my artistic pursuits and my personal identity. On top of that, opportunities for artistic growth were rare, alongside little to no support from the community or family for pursuing my musical dreams.

At the age of 10, I was diagnosed with severe depression and eventually hospitalized after multiple suicide attempts. Throughout my experiences, I had no steady foundation to develop interpersonal and communication skills. This eventually caused me to resort to violence as a means of survival.

In the present, I have been able to take my negative life experiences and turn them into meaningful musical expressions. In such, I have shifted my perspective, found ways to fall in love with the world around me, and with lots of really amazing therapy, been able to pursue a life worth living."
